A native of Cork, Ray Power set up his craft business in the Autumn of 1993 in Kilkenny’s famous Castle Yard, which sits under the gaze of the magnificent Castle of Kilkenny City, the medieval capital of Ireland’s Ancient East. Ray takes his inspiration from Celtic patterns to make bold honest pieces that stand out and enhance formal and decorative settings both in traditional and contemporary homes.

This pottery is handmade in small production batches on the potter’s whee and each piece receives individual attention. With care and great attention the decorative details such as the twisted handles, sprigs and embossed decoration. Each piece also carries a rasied Celtic motif. This pottery is bisque fired to 1000cc before being glazed and then firing again to 1200cc. This guarantees the pottery will be both microwave and dishwasher safe. This Irish traditional approach ensures that Castle Arch Pottery maintains its unique character with luscious and beautiful glaze colouring.
As these are authentic pieces of handcrafted Irish pottery, each piece will differ slightly in size and pattern, including the Celtic motif, making each completely unique. Note: please allow for screen colour and resolution differences.
