These cufflinks are inspired by the famous Ardagh Chalice. The ornate Ardagh Chalice is considered to be one of the greatest treasures of the early Irish Church, c 8 century AD. The Ardagh Chalice was among a number of ancient items discovered by two young men who were digging for potatoes near the village of Ardagh in Co. Limerick in 1868. This Chalice represents how amazing early medieval Irish craftsmanship was and indeed is mirrored by the quality of these silver cufflinks.
