This art print is part of Fab Cow’s ‘Inspired by Ireland’ series. This series is influenced by the rich colours of Ireland’s flowers, heather and fauna. All of which can get overwhelmed by the vast greens of the Irish landscape. Fran Leavey rebalances this by including the vibrant minority colours of Ireland. This creates a warmth and luminosity to this artwork.
In this print we can see three colouful hot air balloons sailing over the mountains. An amazing vibrant colour combination takes our imagination away amongst the balloons. Colours included in this piece are hues of blue, greens, yellows, reds and purples. The colours of the mountains and landscape are replicated in the hot air balloons. The three hot air balloons represent the title of this piece – 1) Explore 2) Dream 3) Discover. We can imagine the joy and excitement high above the mountain tops as the balloons sail towards the yellow – towards the light. The contemporary abstract use of colour and mainly rigid shapes with the soft form of the balloons is a wonderful heart-warming combination.
