The ‘Salmon of Knowledge‘ is a well-known Irish legend about Fionn Mac Cumhaill. Irish Legend has it that the first person to taste this famous Salmon would gain the wisdom and knowledge of the world. Finnegas, Fionn’s mentor, caught the salmon and was very excited that he would be the first to taste the fish and gain the knowledge of the world. He left Fionn to finish cooking the Salmon. When a cooking blister appeared on the Salmon’s skin, Fionn burst it with his thumb and in doing so burnt his thumb. Without thinking, Fionn sucked his thumb to stop the pain. In essence this meant that Fionn was the first to taste the ‘Salmon of Knowledge‘ and he therefore become the wisest man in the world.

I think I must have bought the last one of this particular item, the salmon of knowledge, since it is now out of stock. How fortunate was that, when I couldn’t have found a more meaningful and tasteful graduation gift than this quality bronze, so beautifully framed and presented; it’s perfect. The service from this company is excellent, I had emails at every step of the way during processing and transit, and the package arrived safely within three days of ordering. Thank you.

Fantastic service…I was late ordering and needed the present in a couple of days. Emailed and Shauna replied immediately that it wld be posted to me 1st thing the following day. As promised, we received the gift before we started on our trip. So very grateful for that very personal service. Boxed so safely and arrived in perfect condition! All in all a great experience with a lovely Irish company! The Ryanhart name brings me back to my first job in The Irish Times Collection…Jean was who I dealt with then. Professional then, and still going strong! Many thanks, Shauna & Audrey.
