Totally Irish Gifts is an online Irish store based in Dublin, Ireland.
Please note: update on a new tariff following a directive from the US government.
A new 15% USA customs tax will become effective from 29th August 2025, to be paid by the [receiving] customer before it can be delivered.
- This tariff is levied on the total order value, ie the value of the gift, plus the postage cost.
- The recipient customer in the USA must pay the taxes before the item can be delivered.
- An Post International Logistics Partner will contact the USA recipient and request payment of taxes, along with an administration fee.
- A time frame of 5 calendar days applies for the customer to pay.
- Once paid, the gift will be delivered to the USA.
- If not paid, the gift will be returned to Totally Irish Gifts.
- No credit will be due from An Post in this instance. If a gift has been received back, a refund will be arranged for the value of the gift, not including any postage cost to the USA.
DHL Express International Courier:
If you require your gift urgently, we may be in a position to send via DHL Courier. Please contact us to discuss this arrangement further.
Countries we ship to
We offer both national and international shipping, with exceptions of countries not currently served due natural disasters, conflict, etc. Please contact us to check if we can currently ship to your destination.
Our shipping method
Our delivery partner is the Irish state postal service, ‘An Post’. International shipments are handled by the equivalent postal service of each country traversed.
With the exception of greeting cards, all orders are dispatched by Express Tracked Post.
About Dispatch
- We aim to dispatch stock orders within 24 hours, but certainly within 2 working days, unless otherwise highlighted on our Shipping Information page re national holidays or store holidays.
- Most personalised gifts are dispatched directly from the supplier, lead-times are detailed on these product pages. You can contact us to check a supplier’s current lead-time.
- For orders that include a gift in stock and a personalised gift, both may be shipped together depending on the destination, please contact us if you need clarification for your combination of gifts.
About Delivery times & Cost:
Please note: It can be difficult to estimate delivery times as delay issues can pop up very quickly along any route. The following are the approximate delivery times. Also, please allow for lengthy delivery delays around public holidays, Black Friday, during December and at times of bad weather.

- Postal price varies depends on destination and weight of packaged order. The shipping cost for your order is calculated in the ‘Basket Totals’ section at the bottom of the cart and also in the checkout.

Important points to note about dispatch & delivery:
Note 1: We strongly advise you to contact us about last minute orders required for a particular near date so that we can confirm the order can be fulfilled and delivered by the required date. Or you can indicate in the comments box at checkout if your gift is urgent.
Note 2: For gifts in stock, a shipping email with tracking number will be sent to you when your order has been dispatched. For personalised gifts dispatched directly from the supplier, a shipping email with tracking number will be sent to you once this detail has been received from the supplier. We track all our orders until delivery. We try to keep customers informed if delivery is going to be affected by situations, e.g. sorting delays, adverse weather conditions, postal strikes, etc.
Note 3: Due to weather, Customs, etc, delays can occur. Delays in delivery are beyond our control and we do appreciate your patience and understanding. If your gift gets delayed, for any reason, and doesn’t arrive in time for your special occasion, we can assist customers by sending an email or Certificate of Gifting to your loved one to say a special gift is on the way from Ireland. Please contact us to arrange this.
Note 4: Remote destinations in Ireland and in all countries may take slightly longer to deliver than that indicated.
Note 5: At busy times of the year, such as Black Friday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, after public holidays etc, delivery times can take longer due to high volumes of orders being processed by all shipping companies. It is advisable to place orders well in advance to allow for slower delivery at such times.
Note 6: For international shipments, occasionally parcels are taken into Customs of that country, this is beyond our control, but we will try to keep customers updated of such delays.
Note 7: The Express Post service is tracked, however, depending on the level of stress on postal services tracking isn’t always up-to-date. A signature is normally required on delivery, but since the Covid-19 pandemic many postal services are not engaging in this.
