Vermeil, also known as “silver gilt”, is a high quality sterling silver plated with a layer of gold. The plating is thicker than regular gold plating so it will last longer before wearing down to its sterling silver core. Gold vermeil is a strong and durable alloy. It is more resistant to everyday wear and tear than its sterling silver counterpart. Treat your gold vermeil necklace with care and they will keep their beautiful luster for years to come.
