Winter Solstice at Newgrange

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Newgrange is an ancient Irish passage tomb. It was built during the Neolithic age, around 3200 BC. Making it older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza.

The tomb was designed to showcase the Winter Solstice. As the sun rises on the shortest day of the year, the light appears through a narrow slot at the entrance. This light travels along the 60 foot long tunnel and illuminates the middle chamber.

The Winter Solstice is a time of quiet energy. Time to reflect and release the past. To concentrate on making positive changes.
