This year Mothers Day Ireland is on Sunday 15th March 2026 (i.e. always on the 4th Sunday of Lent), same as the UK.
But in the USA and many other countries around the globe, Mothers Day is on Sunday 10th May 2026 (i.e. always the second Sunday in May). So why is mother’s Day different in Ireland? In Ireland, the date is linked to Easter (Lent), which is different each year as it is based on lunar calendar. In 2026, Mother’s Day will fall on Sunday 15th March.
