This Irish necklace combines two much-loved Celtic symbols: a clear cubic zirconia Trinity Knot and a rose gold plated Triple Spiral.
Both charms hang at different lengths from a central rose gold plated bail on a dainty sterling silver spiga chain, adjustable from 18 to 20 inches. Hallmarked by the Assay Office in Dublin Castle and presented in a Boru Jewellery gift box.
Story & Significance
Newgrange is a Neolithic passage tomb in the Bru na Boinne landscape of County Meath, dating to around 3200 BC. Its passage and chamber are famously aligned so the winter-solstice sunrise can travel through the roof-box and illuminate the interior.
The spiral patterns associated with Newgrange are older than Celtic art, which makes them especially powerful on contemporary Irish gifts. They suggest sunlight, renewal, mystery and the long memory of a landscape people were shaping more than five thousand years ago.
