Castle Arch Pottery

The Story: Castle Arch Pottery was founded by Ray Power in Kilkenny, a city shaped by medieval stone, craft workshops and the presence of Kilkenny Castle. The pottery began in a small workshop at the Castle Yard and has spent more than three decades making pieces that bring the rugged beauty of the Irish landscape into the heart of the home.

The work is made for gathering. A favourite mug. A serving bowl passed around the table. A heart-shaped dipping bowl set out for guests. Castle Arch pieces carry Kilkenny's craft heritage into everyday rituals, with Celtic pattern, warm colour and a sense that no two handmade pieces are ever exactly alike.

The Process: Every piece is hand-thrown on the potter's wheel, giving each mug, bowl, goblet and serving dish its own subtle character. Celtic symbols are embossed into the clay, echoing patterns found on ancient Irish monuments. Signature glazes such as Glas Green reflect shifting Irish skies, earthy greens and the wild Atlantic coast, while the finished pottery is made for real homes: dishwasher safe, microwave safe and created with recycled packaging and no clay waste in production.
