This art print is part of Fab Cow’s ‘Inspired by Ireland’ series. This series is influenced by the rich colours of Ireland’s flowers, heather and fauna. All of which can get overwhelmed by the vast greens of the Irish landscape. Fran Leavey rebalances this by using the vibrant minority colours of Ireland. This creates a warmth and luminosity to this artwork.
In this print we can see the dark outline of the Ha’Penny Bridge at night. Blue hues border an array of yellow – brown – mustard – orange tones. An unusual combination, but one which works beautifully. The white of the full moon brings this image to life and matches up perfectly with the white mount and frame. We can imagine the moon and the lights of Dublin illuminating the town and reflecting on the River Liffey. The contemporary abstract use of rigid shapes with the traditional form of the Ha’penny Bridge is a winning combination.
