Wild Atlantic Shell Necklace

This Wild Atlantic Shell Necklace is a beautiful piece of handmade Irish Jewellery.  Handcrafted in alpaca silver with a beautiful aquamarine marble in its centre. The marble slighly protrudes to the front and is held in place encased in a metal spiral at the back of the pendant. This is a large statement necklace, which hangs on a very long base metal chain. The design of this necklace is unique and is inspired by the Wild Atlantic Way. The design and pattern mimics the shape of a seashell. The aquamarine marble is a beautiful light green when light shines though it, which turns this piece into a beautiful suncatcher when not being worn. When the aquamarine marble is up against the skin, blue, red and purple colours also gleam through.  A truely eye-catching seashell necklace.

Kieran Cunningham

Kieran has worked in metal design since 1977 and has developed a unique range of handcrafted modern Irish jewellery. Influenced by Ireland’s rich ancient Celtic heritage. Kieran’s original designs are indiviudally handcrafted from raw materials. He uses sterling silver, yellow gold, brass, copper and alpaca silver. He uses hand-tools to create each piece, including hand-chiseled scroll effects and shining hammered finishes, which are an age-old tradition of Celtic jewellery design. This form of jewellery making has been passed down through the centuries, but with very few jewellers actually using this process, Kieran is keeping this skill alive.

Alpaca Silver

Alpaca Silver is an alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc. Sometimes called Nickel Silver or German Silver. The usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. This metal combination allows for a very hard, strong, durable and well wearing jewellery. Alpaca Silver polishes to a bright silver finish to make stunning jewellery.
