The Gráinne Mhaol Bronze Statue is a tribute to Gráinne Ní Mháille, whose name translates in English as Grace O’Malley. Born in 1530, Gráinne’s family were seafaring nobles and her father was Chieftain of his clann. Gráinne became known as the Pirate Queen of Connaught and one of the last Irish leaders of that era who rebelled against the crown of England’s rule in Ireland.
In this beautiful statue, Gráinne stands strong with arms wide apart imitating full sails. With the wind in her hair, we can visualise Gráinne standing on top deck bracing the elements and ruling the waves.
Handmade by Rynhart Bronze Fine Art, Co. Cork, this is a truly significant and meaningful Irish gift.

Rynhart are the original creators of the Molly Malone bronze statue in Dublin city.
The Gráinne Mhaol bronze gift is created by Rynhart Fine Art Bronze. Who are based in beautiful Glengarriff, Co. Cork. Jeanne Rynhart formed this company in 1981 and is well known for famous public sculptures such as Molly Malone, Annie Moore and the Rose of Tralee. In 1994 Jeanne’s daughter, Audrey, teamed up with her. Audrey and her husband, Les Elliott, now run the business from their studio in Glengarriff where their passion for Irish history and Celtic design is evident from their attention to detail in Rynhart bronze art pieces.
Rynhart’s bronze art is individually handmade and is bas relief. The process is labour intensive and starts with delicate, careful modelling. When Rynhart are happy with the model a mould is made and cast. Finally, each piece is polished and finishing touches added.
